Mandarin Oriental wangfujing

beijing

The Mood - One of the newest luxury hotels that opened in Beijing in recent years, the MO group has cleverly elected to keep things boutique and comfortable, with only 73 rooms and suites and a level of restaurants and bars pointing towards the Forbidden Palace at a visible distance. Signature MO plushness is evident at every turn and corner, with good service shining through within most branches of operation here. Being in such close proximity to the major cultural spots within Wangfujing is its primary selling point, and being attached to a luxury mall comes a close second. Modern, vibrant and conveniently located, Mandarin Oriental Wangfujing is a great spot to set up camp for explorations in the heart of Beijing.

The Gourmet Factor - Terrace Dome is the hero establishment within the hotel, where sophisticated cocktails and bar grubs are complemented by the unobstructed view of the Forbidden City. Café Zi is the versatile restaurant that offers a new twist on classic Cantonese dishes with offerings like wok-fried prawn with spicy sweet and sour sauce and baked razor clam with spring onion and sea salt. Seafood is quite the specialty here, with a range of enticing options that include imported Boston lobster or green crab prepared in the chef's signature styles.
