The Kahala
yokohama
The Mood - The Kahala Yokohama is a splendid offshoot of its storied parent in Hawaii, located in Yokohama’s Bay Area (Yokohama is just an hour train ride from downtown Tokyo), surrounded by picturesque scenery in the rising Japanese city. The hotel has a total of 146 spacious guest rooms, all of which are more than 47 square meters. The Kahala Suite in particular boasts 109~119 square meters, has the best views and is the den to inhabit here. This establishment is a rare all-round achiever amidst a country renowned for its hospitality sector - the ID is inspiringly modern, the spa is superbly managed, the restaurants (Italian and Japanese fine dining) are inventive and elegant, and the service is efficient and elevated. All that one desires from a fabulous retreat raised in splendour is superbly curated and maintained by the excellent Kahala folks here.
The Gourmet Index - Ristorante Ozio is an Italian restaurant with glamorous booth seating and sophisticated private rooms with panoramic views of Minato Mirai. On any given day a sitting there will be indulgent multiple course affairs rounded off with a sumptuous dessert cart. Hanagoyomi is Japanese restaurant raised amidst a vast water garden. The mood is decidedly cultural, with plenty of Japanese accents like lattices, shoji, and kumiko, as is the cuisine here, unsurprisingly. The Kahala Lounge is located on the top floor of the hotel and is a fab spot for elegant afternoon teas and ornate evening cocktails carefully concocted by the bartenders.
The Service - Imperial sort of sums up the finesse of the service team here, from housekeeping to front desk. Everyone is so eager to deliver excellence at every turn and corner, a bow here means so much more than just cultural courtesy.
Spa and Wellness - The spa here is a self-contained retreat comprising a gym, an indoor pool, hydrothermal facilities and pampering treatments awaiting at the spa salons.
